| | Internet radio that Alla (a person in the lab) is playing...I don't like it at all | ] | Well...I know there were some doubts about my hotness...but let the record show that yesterday, I was screamingly hot. I was working with the radioactive CTP (a nucleotide used by RNA Polymerase to make more mRNA) and apparently the outside of the bottle had some contamination. So, as I touched the bottle, the radioactive stuff got all over my gloves...and then got all over everything I touched after that such as pipetters, heat blocks and, of course, my face and clothes. I wasn't so mad about being covered in radiation (it has a half-life of only 14 days) but mostly that it was going to be really, really annoying to clean up (which is was, and the process is still not done, as I found some more hot things in the lab). So, that was fun.
I got out of the lab last night around 8:30, went home and showered and washed my hot clothes. Some other people in the program and I went into town and got something to eat at a Greek place (I hade a gyro that reminded me fondly of London and the Kabobs I'd eat there).
Today I ran a PCR, two DNA/agarose gels, analyzed some data, plated some bacteria and am running an Elongation Assay. I'm tired and could sleep for days and eat a horse.
I think I'll have horse kabobs tonight...I'm out. |

You are well on your way to develop radiation derived super powers. Keep it up.
Whoa, radiation... if you don't develop some super powers from this, I'm going to be mad. Hope you don't get sick from it though... it sounds a bit scary.
Horse kabobs could be good... | |
